This unique One-of-a-Kind cross necklace is approx. 38” long. It is on the heavy side, 1lb, but it feels really good on!

The cross is an antique Ethiopian Coptic cross, and is 3”x2”. For over 1600 years, Christian Ethiopians have worn their crosses as a sign of their faith. Each town or province had its own distinct design.

The antique blue glass beads are hand made in Afghanistan. They are a gorgeous color and have a great texture. The large silver striped bicones are Thai Hill Tribe silver. The Thai Hill Tribe people use a higher silver content in their beads, typically 95-98%. It is softer and allows them to produce the intricate designs they are famous for.The silver beads are antique Tuareg beads from Mali, Africa. The Tuareg people are a nomadic tribe and descendants of the Berbers. They were known as the Desert Noblemen and traveled around the Sahara Desert region. The beads date from the early to mid 1900s. These are beautiful old beads with lovely patinas and signs of usage. They must have great stories to tell of distant travels and lives. When you wear them it is fun to look down at them and wonder who wore them before you, where they were from, what clothing they wore, and … - well it could go on and on for a long time. All the findings are sterling silver.
