This One-of-a-Kind necklace is approx. 26” long.

Once I started laying out this necklace, it took on a life of its own. The more I added, the more I felt it needed and so I had to start layering. I started with the Tibetan silver repousse pendants, which have turquoise cabochons on the front and animal designs on the back. Repousse is a method of embossing a sheet of metal by punching and hammering the piece on alternating sides to create volume.

The large rpund blue beads are Afghanistan Faience beads (a type of ceramic with a quartz sand body and colored glaze). I used lots of Chinese turquoise in different shapes and sizes. The antique Ethiopian Coptic Crosses were just begging to go over the elliptical turquoise shapes – so they were added. The antique silver dagger amulets from Rajasthan India came next followed by the freshwater biwa stick pearls. A few antique Tuareg silver bicones from Mali, freshwater potato pearls, and sterling silver beads and findings finally finished the design.
