This One-of-a-Kind necklace is approx. 26” long.
The pendant is from the nomadic Kuchi tribes of Afghanistan. It is a beautiful piece and makes a fun little jingle when you walk. The jingle is what started the idea behind this piece, all I could think about was being under the stars with drums and music and a big fire.
The large cobalt blue beads are European made wound glass beads and were traded in Africa in the 1800’s. The silver pendants that hang down in the first row are antique Ethiopian ear spoons that I riveted to hammered silver circles. The metal beads with lapis inlays are from Afghanistan, as are the silver amulets in the second row. I have also included antique blue dutch donut trade beads from Africa, faceted sodalite, and sterling silver beads and findings.
Hand crafted in the USA using imported materials.
