Preening Peacock
$985.00
This One-of-a-Kind necklace is approx. 26” long.
Made in Tibet, this peacock is carved from jade and set in a silver repousse bezel. Repousse is a method of embossing a sheet of metal by punching and hammering on alternating sides to create volume. He surrounds himself with rare African green hebron trade beads from Sudan. Hebron beads are made with Dead Sea salt and date to the mid 1800’s. These have great patinas and pitting.
The Tibetan green turquoise pendants also have a beautiful repousse “feather” pattern on them. The blue biwa stick pearls in the second row are his iridescent tail feathers and the Afghanistan jade inlay metal beads are just beautiful. This necklace really gets the compliments. Yes I wear all my jewelry out to make sure it is made well, feels good, and looks great. Freshwater pearls, antique Tuareg silver beads from Mali, Africa, and sterling silver beads and findings finish out the design.
Hand crafted in the USA with imported materials.
