Silver Lining
$580.00
This Limited Edition necklace is approx. 17” long, and has a sterling silver toggle clasp.
The inspiration for this necklace, like all the others in the collection, was to make a bold color statement. The silver beads are antique Tuareg beads from Mali, Africa. They are handmade and have a beautiful pattern stamped in to them. The Tuareg people are a nomadic tribe and descendants of the Berbers. They were known as the Desert Noblemen and traveled around the Sahara Desert region. The beads date from the early to mid 1900s. These are beautiful old beads with lovely patinas and signs of usage. They must have great stories to tell of distant travels and lives. When you wear them it is fun to look down at them and wonder who wore them before you, where they were from, what clothing they wore, and … - well it could go on and on for a long time. They are hand made and have little patterns stamped into them.
The smaller beads are emerald mountain turquoise. The gorgeous antique silver beads with jasper inlay are from Afghanistan. The pattern and patina of these are just lovely, you can really appreciate how long they have been around. The spacers and findings are all sterling silver.
Hand crafted in the USA with imported materials.
I have also designed a bracelet to go with this piece, it is pictured below.
