Star of David Hebron
$745.00
This One-of-a-Kind necklace is approx. 17” long, and has a sterling silver toggle clasp.
The Star of David is an antique Ethiopian pendant, and is 4”x2”. They were worn by the Falasha, a small group of Jewish settlers, living in the highlands of Ethiopia. The rare blue and green hebron beads are from Sudan, Africa. Hebron beads are made with dead sea salt and date to the mid 1800’s. They have great patinas and pitting. The gorgeous metal beads with turquoise inlays are antique and from Afghanistan. The pattern and coloring of these are stunning and I bet they must have a long and interesting history. The silver beads are antique Tuareg beads from Mali, Africa. The Tuareg people are a nomadic tribe and descendants of the Berbers. They were known as the Desert Noblemen and traveled around the Sahara Desert region. The beads date from the early to mid 1900s. These are beautiful old beads with lovely patinas and signs of usage. They must have great stories to tell of distant travels and lives. When you wear them it is fun to look down at them and wonder who wore them before you, where they were from, what clothing they wore, and … - well it could go on and on for a long time. All the findings are sterling silver.
Hand crafted in the USA with imported materials.
