This unique One-of-a-Kind stone necklace is adjustable from 16 1/2 - 20 1/2”.She is approx 3” long x 1 1/2” wide.

The name Tanginika is African in origin and means “magical princess of the lake”. The hand cut and polished stone that makes up her body is turquoise. Turquoise is classified as a semiprecious, opaque mineral. Because of the wide variations possible in this mineral's density and its chemical makeup, turquoise can vary considerably in hue. It is said to be an ancient talisman for health and happiness.

After cutting the overall shape, I decided to carve grooves into her body to represent ripples in water. Her head is an Afghanistan faience bead (a type of ceramic with a quartz sand body and colored glaze). I have also used Chinese turquoise beads and sterling silver beads and findings. She hangs from a genuine leather cord.
